**About this role:**

**In this role, you will:**
+ Serve in either a testing execution and/or lead capacity, participating in complex testing engagements in a matrixed environment, and communicating emerging risks to management
+ Lead and support efforts to effectively challenge risks in the end-to-end reporting processes and evaluate controls designed to mitigate those risks
+ Partner with business partners to understand the environment and related initiatives to develop appropriate and complementary testing procedures

+ Proactively communicate issues to stakeholders including ownership, while providing recommendations to management

+ Contribute to large scale planning related to Independent Testing deliverables
+ Review and research moderately complex potential corrective actions, and follow through on reporting, escalation, and resolution
+ Ensure effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs and controls according to standards and other applicable policies
+ Resolve moderately complex issues and lead team to meet Independent Testing deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of risk management framework and the risk and control environment
+ Collaborate and consult with colleagues, internal partners, management and lines of business regarding risk management
+ Lead or participate in moderate to high risk or complex review activities in a matrixed environment and communicate emerging risks to management within Independent Testing
+ Contribute to large scale planning related to Independent Testing deliverables

**Required Qualifications:**
+ 4+ years of Independent Testing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
**Desired Qualifications:**
+ Big Four/super regional public accounting firm experience in business process, regulatory, or compliance audits and/or business process, regulatory, or advisory/consulting service
+ Foundational understanding of human resource, legal and public affairs functions and related supervisory expectations for large financial institutions
+ Demonstrated success with influencing business units to identify, formulate and implement processes/procedures to mitigate risk
+ Strong knowledge of the COSO Framework and Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) programs
+ Articulate, poised and comfortable in direct interaction with senior lines of business partners, Compliance, Independent Risk Management, and Internal Audit
+ Demonstrated negotiation skills, especially with difficult topics when partnering with lines of business. This includes the willingness and ability to question decisions, understand direction and escalate issues, where necessary
+ Experience using and/or knowledge of key risk and control considerations for key human resource applications and tools
+ Experience in Audit, Compliance, Risk and Testing

Virgin Galactic is seeking a highly motivated Senior Avionics Technician to support our Manufacturing team in Mesa. Guided by our values, “Safety above All”, we proactively manage the risks inherent in human spaceflight through our daily actions in the design and assembly efforts.
Primary tasks will be associated with the unique avionics’ architecture of a full fly by wire spaceship that include but are not limited to harness installation, wire tying, wire bundle routing, wire stripping, terminations, continuity checks, troubleshooting and other dynamic and exciting spacecraft manufacturing operations. Utilize Shop Tools/Machinery that include multimeters, soldering irons, crimpers, wire strippers and cutters, Maintain focus on timeliness and execution of tasks and deliverables every day. Support the company strategy by holding ourselves and one another accountable for getting the work done.
**Responsibilities**
+ Fabricate and assemble avionics components and install on ship to include wire harnesses, data acquisition units (DAU), and sensors
+ Assist in supporting the manufacturing team in installation, design, development, and testing of parts and technologies used on aircrafts or in space exploration
+ Adhere to set directions and guidelines from team leader to support collaboration across teams to complete project
+ Provide input of technical and operational knowledge in the assessment and repair/maintenance recommendations in support of the program assigned
+ Work on manufacturing assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations
+ Ensure quality and efficiency of installations, including troubleshooting and may provide guidance in troubleshooting processes and concepts
+ Adhere to assembly instructions to ensure accurate completion of complex project assemblies

The Avionics Technician installs, inspects, tests, adjusts, or repairs avionics equipment, such as radar, communications, navigation, and instrument systems assigned CBP aircraft.
Principal Accountabilities:
+ Troubleshoot, repair, and modify avionics, electrical and instrumentation systems installed on aircraft.
+ Solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar technical documents and/or drawings.
+ Use intricate test equipment such as, multi-trace oscilloscopes, frequency counters, multi-meters, and other avionics test equipment to perform troubleshooting and operational checks.
+ Perform removal, repair, installation, inspection, and operational check of system components.
+ Repair and/or replace components based on test results following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Associate degree (or higher) in a related field from an accredited institution preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, or GIS software is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to document project progress effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a team-based environment while managing tasks independently with guidance.
• A valid driver’s license may be required for travel to field sites.
