**PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Under close supervision, performs routine technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronics and Electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment.
+ Applications may include analog, digital and/or video type circuits and logic systems. Guidance is readily available from superiors. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks.
+ Performs routine operational tests and fault isolation on development systems and equipment to ensure conformance with design specifications.

+ Complex cable harness manipulation techniques and test configuration. EGSE rack usage and basic troubleshooting.

+ Intermediate understanding of Test Operator responsibilities and ability to execute all scripts during test events.
**Shift Work** - This position requires the flexibility to work alternate shifts (2nd shift and 3rd shift) and potentially weekend shifts depending on test event schedules. **Qualifications**
**WHAT YOU BRING TO FREEPORT**
+ Currently enrolled in an associate degree or certification program in electrical, instrumentation/control systems or relevant field, **OR**
+ Recent graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with an associate degree or certification in electrical, instrumentation/control systems or relevant field.
**WHAT WE REQUIRE**

Who we are
Chandler was the first city in Arizona to receive accreditation of our water and wastewater operations by the American Public Works Association, the toughest accreditation to achieve in the industry. The Utilities Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City's water treatment plant, 32 water wells, and 19 booster station facilities and shares another water plant with the Town of Gilbert. The Utility also operates wastewater and reclaimed water infrastructure, including industrial wastewater/ brine reduction and three wastewater facilities. We treat over 64 million gallons of fresh water and treat over 30 million gallons of wastewater per day to class A+ reclaimed water to meet irrigation and industrial demands. Our water is received from four primary water sources: Salt River, Verde River, Colorado River, and groundwater supplied by our extensive well field facilities. We also use advanced treatment processes to recycle over 7 million gallons of industrial wastewater and return it back for industrial reuse. Service is provided to the City of Chandler residential, commercial, and industrial users by a network of 1,224 miles of active water mains, 942 miles of active sewer mains, and 92 miles of reclaimed water mains.

• 3 years of journey-level electrician experience; and
• A Journeyman Electrician Certification upon hire or promotion; and
• A valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
