• Serve as initial point of contact for members of the community involved in cases filed in the Magistrate Court, provide information as needed, or refer participants to other appropriate sources.
• Open and maintain files by entering, scanning, updating, and maintaining information in both electronic and paper formats.
• Prepare basic legal documents such as Notice of Appearance, Initial Disclosure, and Motions.
• Prepare civil traffic files for evidentiary hearings, including witness subpoenas and trial exhibits.
• Communicate with Magistrate and other Courts regarding case status (including Court schedules).
• Be proficient in various computer software programs related to criminal prosecution, budgeting, and personnel.
• Perform detailed work accurately and independently in compliance with stringent time limits and occasional interactions with persons who are hostile or aggressive.
You will need to have:
• High School diploma or equivalent with minimum of two (2) years of experience in legal support or similar function.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background.
• Ability to read statutory language regarding administrative details of the legal process.
A preferred qualification would be:
• Being bilingual in Spanish
