**Job Title: Welder**

**Job Description**

This position is responsible for the fabrication of mechanical parts and may involve using pneumatic or electric hand tools for tasks such as deburring or surface preparation of metal parts. The role requires the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions and interact with machine controls and enterprise timekeeping systems. Proficiency in using and reading basic machine shop measuring equipment, including dial calipers, tape measures, and protractors, is essential.

**Responsibilities**

+ Fabricate mechanical parts using various tools and techniques.

+ Deburr and prepare surfaces of metal parts using pneumatic or electric hand tools.

+ Follow both written and verbal work instructions accurately.

+ Interface with enterprise timekeeping systems and machine controls.

+ Use and read basic machine shop measuring equipment such as dial calipers, tape measures, and protractors.

**Essential Skills**

+ Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.

+ Familiarity with all welding shop power tools.

+ Basic ability to read welding symbols and prints.

+ Minimum of 3 years working in a fabrication environment with welding experience.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Ability to grind metal for prep work or deburring according to instructions.

+ Basic knowledge of welding with formal training in GMAW and understanding of FCAW.

+ Understanding of basic weld symbols and blueprint reading.

+ Qualified in flat (1F and 1G) and horizontal (2F and 2G) welding positions.

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance and over 50 lbs with assistance.

**Work Environment**

The work is performed in a standard manufacturing environment, requiring the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, push, pull, and grasp. The schedule is Monday to Friday, from 6 AM to 3 PM, with an average of 5-8 hours of overtime per week, including weekends. Steel-toed shoes/boots, work jeans/pants, and a plain T-shirt are required attire. The worker is protected from weather conditions but may be exposed to temperature changes, electrical currents, moving mechanical parts, chips, dust, chemicals, debris, and intense heat.

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Contract position based out of Chandler, Arizona.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
