Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (Contingent Worker) - Card Services

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Job Type: Contract / Contingent Resource

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Card Services team as a contingent resource. In this role, you will lead and contribute to complex software engineering initiatives that have broad organizational impact. You will be responsible for hands-on development, strategic consultation, and technical problem-solving across large-scale systems.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable software solutions using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
* Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, with approximately 80% of your time dedicated to hands-on development.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and resolve complex engineering challenges.
* Provide technical consultation on large-scale planning and architectural decisions.
* Evaluate and integrate NoSQL database solutions, with a preference for MongoDB.
* Implement and manage messaging systems using Kafka.
* Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

* 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering or a related field (including consulting, military, or academic experience).
* Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
* Experience with Kafka and NoSQL databases (MongoDB preferred).
* Strong understanding of software development best practices and system architecture.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience working in financial services or card services environments.
* Familiarity with agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
