Description: Our client is currently seeking a Transport Engineer(1-2):

Description: This position will be responsible for engineering and administration functions associated with the design, installation and inventory on interconnection facilities required for the provisioning of wireless services in the Southwest Submarket. This person will also be responsible for successfully managing their purchase orders, OCNR, RNP, and match exceptions to ensure Territory and SOX compliance, as well as ensuring compliance with circuit design. Design, plan and implement the fiber optic backhaul and fronthaul ensuring the timely turn-up of new builds to include macro cells, small cells, and in-building nodes. Design paths and assign ports on ancillary transport equipment so Network Assurance teams can turn-up the sites. Design plans for interconnect of all transport including microwave, lit services and dark fiber through an MSPP, L2/L3 Multilayer Switch as well as any other ODM equipment required to complete connectivity. Document circuit designs, transport equipment and transport backbone in Granite Inventory Tool (XNG) database.
Qualifications: • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the cellular or telecommunications' industry. • Strong background with Nokia 7705 and 7750 routers • Experience with Fujitsu and Ciena transport equipment • Familiar with at least 3 of the following applications: • Granite Inventory Tool (XNG) • ASR's (manual, QORA, EASE, WISOR & Access Ordering) • SevOne • BRIX • Peoplesoft • Mapinfo • Mastery of Excel & Word, VISIO, PowerPoint, and Access. • Strong analytic, interpersonal, and communication skills are required. • Proven time management skills with the ability to work cross-functionally at different levels within the organization. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Experience and understanding of wireless network infrastructure, functionality and design is required. • Knowledge of telecommunications equipment - MSPP, Router, Switch, Multilayer Switch, DWDM, CWDM.
