Job Description
Northern Arizona University (NAU) invites applications for the Coordinator of National and International Scholarships and Fellowships. A 10.5-month position, the Coordinator of National and International Scholarships and Fellowships is housed in the Honors College and reports directly to the Dean, but serves all NAU students and alumni, regardless of whether they are affiliated with Honors. The Coordinator works closely with a number of campus partners, including various academic colleges and schools, the Office of Graduate Studies, the Center for International Education, and the Office of Undergraduate Research to develop and implement a campus-wide effort to support NAU undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni seeking distinguished external scholarships and fellowships located both domestically and abroad. This effort includes publicizing prestigious fellowship, scholarship, and grant opportunities; providing resources; advising current and prospective applicants; developing and convening internal review panels and selection committees; providing support throughout the application and selection process; maintaining records of applicants and reporting awards. The Coordinator will be expected to participate in professional organizations dedicated to prestigious fellowship advising, and to keep current in best practices for preparing students to apply for these awards.
Student Support - 40%
• Provide, as appropriate, coaching on writing and interviewing.
Awards Managment - 20%
• Serve as campus expert on domestic and international scholarships, fellowships, and awards.
Publicity - 20%
• Collaborate with campus partners to publicize fellowship and scholarship opportunities.
Adminstrative - 15%
• Maintain institutional records of applicants and their successes.
• Establish on-campus processes.
Other - 5%
• Other recruitment events.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Undergraduate Bachelor's degree.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree.
• 3 years undergraduate teaching or fellowship advising experience, or practical experience that would provide comparable understanding of the demands of national fellowship competitions.
• Demonstrative quantitative literacy.
• Experience with maintaining records and performing assessment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Superior skills in writing, speaking, and public presentation.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office or a similar suite of applications.
• Commitment to coaching students on writing, interviewing, and public presentation.
• Ability to provide prompt and thorough feedback on application materials.
• Commitment to coaching students on interview and public presentation techniques.
• Ability to prioritize, multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively with a variety of constituents, including faculty, students, staff, and administrators.

Salary
This position starts at $52,000 for 10.5 months. Annual salary is commensurate with experience.
FLSA Status
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore will not earn overtime or compensatory time for additional time worked.

This is a Classified Staff (CLS) position.
