**Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems** sector is currently hiring a **Guidance Navigation & Controls (GNC) Manager 2** to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This hands-on leadership role is located in **Melbourne, FL** .

The Guidance Navigation & Controls Manager 2 will manage the functional engineering activities of approximately ten GNC Engineers within a program. This position reports to the Flight Sciences Department Manager within the Vehicle Engineering functional homeroom team.

**Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:**

+ Product integrity, process adherence, staffing, training, and tools

+ Process oversight, participation in the performance review process, management of personnel records and participation in corrective or disciplinary actions

+ Staffing responsibilities such as hiring, recruiting of personnel and working to ensure that engineers with the appropriate skills and experience are deployed

+ Managing training opportunities and budget allocations, as well as participation in tool, process, and metric initiatives is required.

+ Team engagement is a key focus as is mentoring and providing career guidance and coaching

+ In addition to functional Section Manager duties, the candidate will perform IPT engineering tasks, which will comprise most of the statement of work (approx. 85%)

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor of Science (BS) in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 9 years of related professional/military experience; OR Master of Science (MS) in STEM discipline with 7 years of related professional/military experience

+ Must have knowledge of linear control principles and tools to design feedback control systems

+ Must have knowledge of fixed-wing aircraft flight dynamics

+ Must have knowledge of vehicle system-level requirements verification

+ Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DOD Secret and Special Access Program (SAP) clearances

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Current/active, in-scope Secret clearance (or higher)

+ Current Special Program Access

+ Leadership or management experience of an engineering team

+ Experience working on manned aircraft autopilot

+ Experience using Matlab/Simulink to model dynamic systems for simulation of vehicle performance and stability & control analysis

+ Experience verifying vehicle system level requirements similar to MIL-STD-1797B, SAE-949000, MIL-STD-9490

**Salary Range:** $135,100 - $202,700

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
