FCP Euro is seeking an Automation and Controls Process Engineer to join its Process Engineering / Continuous Improvement team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with DC Operations to design, source, install, commission, and improve warehouse control, automation, and material handling systems. A strong background in electrical systems, automation, process control systems, and relevant standards & codes is required. Experience in supply chain is preferred, but not essential.

This is an on-site role and you may choose to work either at the Milford, CT, or Mesa, AZ location. Hybrid options may be available based on business requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Control systems and Automation: As the primary owner for developing control system design and automation solutions for distribution operations, you will:

+ Provide technical support to internal and external customers

+ Create and drive MHE/automation system performance KPIs

+ Ensure that solutions are implemented accurately and within budget by understanding FCP Euro’s design requirements and addressing design parameters and engineering problems

+ Program new and modify existing conveyor systems

+ Reprogram automation systems for engineering changes and improvements

+ Provide system installation support and on-site start-up and debugging for both hardware and software

Drive a continuous improvement culture with DC Operations and Supply Chain:

+ Be an expert in the supply chain process, understand the impact on DC operations, and provide insights on future improvements.

+ Employs continuous improvement methods, such as visual management, Kaizens, and value stream mapping

+ Continuously monitors and improves processes, and drives a culture of continuous improvement.

+ Provides single-threaded ownership for process improvement projects, resolves issues, ensures success, and drives safety. Defines equipment/parts, conducts cost/time estimation, and assists with documentation.

+ Clearly expresses ideas and concerns, actively seeks and shares information, and presents effectively in group settings.

Key Performance Indicators for Success (KPIs):

+ Improve MHE uptime KPIs

+ Investment and commissioning automation and showing the expected ROIs

+ Reducing Cost per Order / Cost per Shipment through process improvements

+ Improve customer experience by improving on-time shipment and delivery, reduction in shipping errors / damages

Experience and Skill requirements:

+ Experience in distribution/fulfillment, warehousing, and logistics preferred

+ Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other quant field required

+ Master degree in Science, Engineering, Statistics preferred

+ Experience or certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) preferred but not required

+ Requires experience in architecting, testing, documenting, and troubleshooting MHE, electrical, and warehouse automation systems

+ Requires multi-year industry experience programming with PanelView, LabView, Factory Talk, Studio 5000, AutoCAD (electrical), SolidWorks, or similar

+ Requires advanced working knowledge of PLC logic and controls (RSLogix, Siemens, GE, or equivalent)

+ Requires experience working with data + data tools (Python, R, SQL, Matlab, SAS, or similar)

+ Preferred to have experience of building out business insight dashboards (Grafana, Sigma, Tableau, PowerBI, or similar)

+ Willing and able to travel to all domestic sites

Compensation

This is an exempt role with a base salary of $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience, with a total compensation opportunity of $87,400 to $131,000 annually.
