Role and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
The mid-level Pastry Cook is responsible for supporting the resort’s overall culinary vision in all aspects of desserts and baking. This position will plan, prep, set up and prepare consistent quality products in all areas of the Pastry Shop to include, but not limited to, pastries, desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, etc., in accordance with departmental quality standards and specifications. Previous experience in pastry banquet and outlet production including prep, executing menu set up for parties, garnishing and finishing desserts by set time. Works in a clean and organized manner and conduct his or herself in a positive professional manner.
Pastry Cook must have open availability and be able to work a flexible schedule, including lunch shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications:
• Refined verbal communication skills.
• At least 2 years of previous baking/pastry experience preferred in high volume establishment.
• Culinary degree or related Hotel experience is preferred.
• Candidate should be able to perform all basic pastry & baking skills.
• Able to execute and follow recipes based on established guidelines. paying attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Maricopa County Food Handlers License
• Must have the availability to work weekends, holidays, mornings and evenings.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.
