Summary Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Border Patrol Headquarters, Program Management Operations Directorate, Program Management Division, located in Tucson, AZ. Responsibilities The Program Management Office Directorate's mission is to deploy and sustain a comprehensive suite of technologies and services to effectively and efficiently accomplish the USBP mission. These technologies and services facilitate persistent surveillance, enhance critical situational awareness capability, establish, and maintain control of U.S. borders while simultaneously enhancing agent safety. The Program Manager oversees the planning and execution of assigned acquisition programs or provides staff support to senior acquisition officials on various aspects of acquisition program management throughout. This position starts at a salary of $124,395.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $161,716.00 (GS-14, Step 10). Typical duties of this assignment include: Leading, directing, implementing, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of Acquisition Lifecycle Framework. Evaluating current business management processes and procedures and recommending appropriate actions for use in the execution of the acquisition program. Making recommendations to all levels of management along with reviewing, evaluating, and planning on planning methodology and control; performance measurement; information systems; management techniques and theories; organizational structure; appropriation laws; policies and directives required for successful program planning and execution. Overseeing the logistical planning, coordination, execution of systems acquisition, deployment, sustainment, and decommissioning for projects. Qualifications Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Analyzing financial or statistical information for the purpose of evaluating economic performance of current and projected programs. Identifying and resolving uncertainties, unique situations, obscure problems, or conflicting objectives encountered during program execution. Managing complex projects that may cut across organizational lines. Defining goals and objectives needed to maximize performance of a long-term program.
