This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic DIB & MRTFB in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT AMCOM, USATA, PRODUCTION DIRECTORATE, ORGANIC, ORGANIC INDUSTRIAL BASE, YUMA PROVING GROUND, AZ Responsibilities Provides technical assistance and guidance to lower grade employees, engineers, scientists, physicists, and technicians. Tests, evaluates, analyzes, and reports results for conventional and unconventional state-of-the-art precision Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE). Selects, applies, and interprets engineering principles and practices as related to the specialty area in order to collect, reduce, display, analyze data, and provide metrology information. Assists and advises users in their development, operation, or purchase of special equipment. Provides specific information, such as data, assigned values, corrections, measurement uncertainties, and limited ranges and parameters. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) experience in mechanical and electrical engineering principles and practices such as metrology work; (2) experience in test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) standards and support instrumentation (3) experience performing or overseeing calibration/certification tests to include providing technical assistance and guidance to lower grade employees, engineers, scientists, physicists, and technicians. Specialized experience for GS position must be ratable, meaning must be able to locate on resume 52 weeks at next lower grade (GS-09). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
