Purpose:
Support Field Superintendents, Shop Leads, Production Supervisor, Placing Manager, Branch Manager, and Regional Safety Supervisor on the implementation of field, shop, and office safety programs. Responsible for conducting field, shop, and office safety training, performing field and shop safety audits, investigating safety issues at jobsites, ensuring compliance with IIPP and other safety initiatives, contractor's safety programs, and all applicable federal and state regulations applicable to safety.

Responsibilities:
* Lead our safety performance, ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local safety, occupational health and environmental regulations, including OSHA.
* Conduct training and culture-building activities with branch teammates to lead with safety in mind.
* Collaborate with peer EHS teammates across Nucor Rebar Fabrication to ensure consistency across divisions and share best practices.
* Work with JHSC on audits, program reviews, etc. and help to develop topics and other agenda items for the JHSC meetings.
* Prepare content and ensure regular Toolbox and Safety Meetings are conducted.
* Inspect facilities/sites, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
* Conduct safety and compliance inspections according to a defined schedule.
* Spot check all safety logs, sign-off sheets, and other required and regulatory documents.
* Maintain a Safety Inspection and Auditing Program.
* Assist branch in performing annual safety reviews, PPE assessments, equipment certifications, etc.
* Utilize Intelex to ensure all health and safety matters are documented and completed promptly.
Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree related to Occupational Safety and Health/Environmental or 3 years' experience in a related field.

**Job Summary**
Manufacture customized products that meet customer specifications and prepare completed orders for shipment.
**Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities**
+ Examines specifications of the customer’s order using drawings, work orders, or blueprints to determine the characteristics of the finished item, materials to be used, and machine setup requirements.
+ Fabricates work piece as determined by work order specifications. Retrieves correct materials and performs various fabrication duties.
+ Examines work piece visually, by touch, or using tape rule, calipers, or gauges to ensure product meets desired standards.
+ Packages for shipping. Installs protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
+ Maintains condition of work area (i.e., free of trash, product in correct location, etc.).
+ Follows company safety policies and procedures.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**Nature and Scope**
+ Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction. Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.
+ Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude/independent judgment. Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior coworker and/or supervisor.
+ None.
**Work Environment**
+ Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
+ Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
+ Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
**Education and Experience**

Primary Responsibilities:
+ Performs all-position MIG welding to join steel and aluminum metals from 1/16”- to 1”-thick plate
+ Interprets and carries out work orders, blueprints, sketches and verbal instructions
+ Clamp parts into jigs or holding fixtures
+ Cleans burrs, spatter and weld flux from assemblies
+ Hand-count material for inventory purposes
+ Wears and maintains protective clothing and equipment including a welding helmet, welding gloves, cotton clothing, safety glasses and steel-toe safety shoes
+ Follows all safety practices during assembly and production operations and ensures that work areas are maintained in a safe, clean and orderly manner
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Successfully complete a plant-administered welding test.
+ Regular attendance is essential.
Work Environment:
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritating chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.
Physical Demands:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
