    A trooper is a fully certified law enforcement officer who, under supervision, patrols highways, enforces laws and ordinances, investigates collisions, and performs related duties.

    Benefits include a take home car, medical, dental, vision, and tuition reimbursement. Annual Salary is $65,382-$91,601 and you will receive a yearly increase to your salary.

    Since Troopers are assigned statewide duties however, applicants may request up to three duty assignment locations (city/town/county or patrol district) for consideration by the Department.

    Applicants may list these (up to three) requested duty assignment locations in their online application, or enter the word "anywhere" on their online application if they do not have a preference. You will know where you are placed to work by the time you leave the Academy. The Department will do its best to work with applicants and their families to assign the applicant to one of their requested duty assignments, but ultimately the staffing allocation needs of the Department is the deciding factor.     This recruitment will be used to establish an eligibility list for current and future Trooper Trainee positions throughout the state. This classification is designated as uncovered, and incumbents serve at the will of the Arizona Department of Public Safety Director.

    Trooper Trainees are assigned throughout the state to Highway Patrol Division offices where they complete orientation and training, and perform a wide variety of functions and work. Trooper Trainee positions are designed to prepare prospective candidates to be a Cadet State Trooper with the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Applicants must pass a written and physical fitness examination and demonstrate they have the ability to prepare to be a State Trooper. Trooper Trainees will complete regular physical fitness training and tests, assist with traffic operations, complete administrative work, perform research and special projects, and be considered for advanced training that benefits them and the Department. This classification is designed for those between the ages of 18 and 20 years 6 months, who otherwise meet the requirements to be a Cadet State Trooper. Performs related duties as assigned.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
    Must obtain ACJIS Terminal Operator Certification within six months of hire and maintain certification throughout the course of this assignment with the Department.
    Holidays, weekends, and shift work may be required.

    WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    Primarily office setting.
    Availability to work irregular hours and/or respond to emergency callouts on a 24-hour basis.

    Overview

    Direct, monitor and assist in all hotel security and safety related programs. Perform protective, preventative, safety and security related enforcement functions touring hotel complex to ensure the safety and well being of all hotel guests, associates and vendors.
