A.T. Still University’s School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) invites applications for the position of a full-time, exempt Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the Mesa, Arizona campus. Faculty members in the Department of Biomedical Science contribute to the mission of ATSU-SOMA and education of medical students through support of student directed learning of basic and clinical sciences through extensive use of clinical cases in a small group setting.
**The following is a list of academic responsibilities that may be required as a full-time member of the Department of Biomedical Science:**
+ Serve as content expert in area of expertise
+ Facilitate small group learning
+ Work collaboratively with other faculty to create and develop cases for case-based learning sessions
+ Prepare educational tools (AV, demonstration models, lectures, lesson plans, etc.) as needed
+ Attend and contribute to curricular meetings and faculty development offerings
+ Provide board-style formative and summative assessment questions in the area of expertise
+ Help to identify underperforming students and their areas of weakness through the use of evaluation tools
+ Interview prospective student candidates for ATSU-SOMA
+ Advise and mentor students
+ Be willing to serve as an advisor to at least one student club
+ Serve on departmental and institutional committees, as assigned or elected
+ Participate in scientific, educational, community-based, or other types of research or other relevant scholarly activity
+ Serve on collaborative University-wide groups as approved by the Dean or designee
+ Must be able to take direction and receive assignments from the Department Chair and Curricular Deans

A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is seeking full-time Assistant/Associate Professor Clinical Dental Faculty on the Mesa, Arizona campus.
**Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ **General** - Conduct teaching, scholarship, service and patient care in support of the mission and goals of ASDOH and ATSU. Promote an atmosphere of respect, collegiality, commitment to diversity and social justice, and humanistic learning environment.
+ **Teaching** – In collaboration with the Director of Special Care Dentistry and other responsible faculty and administrators, provide clinical supervision and didactic instruction to predoctoral students and AEGD residents in general dentistry for special needs patients that integrates biomedical, behavioral and clinical sciences, and effectively carry out supporting lecture, seminar, and other didactic instruction for the students and residents.
+ **Patient Care and Treatment** - Provide direct patient care in the ACC that supports community service, efficient clinic operations, student/resident education, or when in the best interest of the patient.
+ **Administration** – Assist in the administrative aspects of Special Care Clinic as assigned by the Director of Special Care Dentistry consistent with program goals and accreditation, and regulatory compliance.
+ **Service** – Participate in committees, faculty governance, professional societies and associations, community events, and provision of CE.
+ **Scholarship** - Establish and maintain scholarly and/or research activity in area of expertise, at level consistent with scheduled annual workload.
Requirements
+ DDS/DMD degree required.
+ Two to three years' Clinical teaching experience preferred, GPR or AEGD, advanced training in special care.
+ Excellent leadership and communication skills - able to deliver clear, concise directions and leadership.
+ Excellent problem solving and crisis management skills.
+ Experience in clinical dental teaching is preferred.
+ Eligibility for Arizona Dental License.

About the Department/College
Creative Media & Film (CMF) consists of more than 200 majors studying in three emphasis areas: Documentary Storytelling, Independent Filmmaking, and Media Studies, as well as a new minor in Documentary Storytelling. The School of Communication is a unit located in the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences. The School of Communication includes major areas in Strategic Communication, Communication Studies, Visual Communication, Photography, Journalism, and Creative Media & Film. CMF includes eight full time faculty. The School of Communication also has a Master of Science degree in Communication, including an emphasis in Documentary Studies.
About the Position
Northern Arizona University's School of Communication is conducting a search for a strong teacher-filmmaker to be hired as an Assistant Professor of Practice in our Creative Media & Film (CMF) program. This is a 9 month (August -May) teaching-focused, non-tenure eligible position. The position will begin in August 2025.
This position is primarily responsible for teaching film production courses in the major from introductory to advanced, as wll as occasional media and cinema studies courses, as needed. At NAU, teaching and mentoring students is a core value: we place student success at the center of our academic and service planning, policies, and programs. Therefore, a desire and passion for teaching and mentoring is a key component of this position.
What makes NAU unique, as compared to other comparable institutions, involves students making film projects starting their first year and our focus on storytelling within an independent filmmaking context. We also hold an annual curated student film festival at a downtown public venue. In addition, UTV Studios is an official university club where students gain direct experience in working on film projects, advised closely by a faculty member.
Courses that need coverage may include:
• Introduction to Filmmaking,
• Introduction to Cinematic Storytelling,
• Various levels of Screenwriting (from short to feature length),
• Filmmaking Techniques,
• Post-production (editing, color grading and sound mixing),
• Cinematography,
• Producing Client Work,
• Directing Fiction,
• Documentary Production, and Producing, among others
There may also be opportunities to sit on Master's students project committees in Documentary Studies. Additional duties include service to the CMF area, the School of Communication, and the University.
Both a continued film practice at a professional level and a willingness to learn stronger teaching methods through mentorship and teaching workshops are essential for this position. Success in the position is dependent upon a demonstrated and continuing connectedness to contemporary filmmaking practices and a keen understanding of such practices (fiction narrative, documentary and potentially experimental) within the context of film history, international cinema and media studies.
Responsibilities Include:
• Teaching a variety of classes focused on film production.
• Collaborating with colleagues in the development of the program and planning to provide students with the best learning experience.
• Mentoring students in skills, professionalism, and career development.
• Service to school, college, and/or university. Typically, this involves service on standing or ad-hoc committees.
This position is an on-site position which requires the incumbent to complete their work primarily at an NAU site, campus, or facility with or without accommodation. Opportunities for remote work are rare.
Minimum Qualifications
• A bachelor's degree (BFA, BA, BS) in film or media production, or related field.
• At least three years of professional experience in one more of the following areas in filmmaking and media production: producer, director, cinematographer, post-production (editing, color-grading, sound mixing), screenwriter.
• A strong desire and willingness to teach, with some form of teaching experience (professional workshops, seminars, college-level classes, guest lectures, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
• An MFA in film production, or related field
• Evidence of accomplishments and professional experience in two or more of the following areas in filmmaking and media production:
• Producer: produced at least three fiction or documentary short films or client-based projects, or at least one feature-length fiction narrative or documentary film.
• Director: directed at least three fiction or documentary short films or client-based projects, or at least one feature-length fiction narrative or documentary film.
• Cinematographer: worked as a DoP for at least three fiction or documentary short films or client-based projects, or at least one feature-length fiction narrative or documentary film.
• Post-production (editing, color-grading, sound mixing, sound design): worked as an editor, colorist or sound mixer for at least three fiction or documentary short films or client-based projects, or at least one feature-length fiction narrative or documentary film.
• Screenwriter: wrote at least three short screenplays and two feature-length screenplays.
• Proficiency in camera, lights, audio equipment, and/or postproduction tools.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and mentoring beginning filmmakers, with a focus on the development of filmmaking practice and careers.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range begins at $60,000. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.
This is a Faculty (FAC) position. NAU offers an excellent benefit package including generous health, dental and vision insurance; participation in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) or the Optional Retirement Program (ORP); sick leave accruals and 10 holidays per year; and tuition reduction for employees and qualified family members.
